The company claims it is safe but urethene manufactures recommend using a soft brush. The Roomba is pretty stiff and am concerned if I am removing the finish.

EVERYTHING, including walking around, takes poly off of floors. In the real world, poly need to be stripped and replaced every ten years.

A Roomba weighs about five pounds, and doesnt have a stiff enough set of bristles on its sweeper to do any more damage than you do by just living there.

I say get the Roomba.
