I think thats just part of your teen years. I dont think there is a way to stop it from happening. Its just a hint that youre reaching puberty.
Hints:
Click on the mirror and have your teen use acne cream. There's also some 'cover up' make up in 'change appearance' mode. This hides the acne quite nicely on light skinned Sims.
If you let a teen's hygene get below 50 they get zits. You have to have them shower a lot.
Psst another hint is: Click on your name in hyperlink and choose some BEST ANSWERS. Your points are getting low.

you have to keep applying the acne cream (when you click on mirror in bathroom) eventually it will go away...make sure you keep an eye on it or it will keep getting worse....
