when loading itunes on a different computer and putting your ipod on the computer is there a way to set it up without the ipod having to be restored...as in cleaning the whole thing out?

Unfortunately, Apple has set it so you can't do that. They want to make mre iTunes money while protecting record label copyrights and their own butts. To get it off and on to another computer, I highly recomend this site:

I took their advice for mac users and downloaded Linkpod. It works great.
