Who is a true American?

A true American is any individual who lives in America (legally) and respects the laws of our beautiful country. When the sight of the red, white and blue flying brings a tear to your eye and hearing the song America the Beautiful makes you put your hand over your heart, then you can proudly say "I'm an American."

If you mean who was here first, of course, the Indians. However,
they came over from Asia, across the Bering Strait, originally. Of course, a person who is patriotic, believes in the Constitution and values of a free Democracy could be labeled as such.

If you mean in a historical sense, it would be an american indian.
