The idea of fantasy and perfection. Boys always to want to do what the see in cartoons (fight, become zords etc) why not be able to have sex too?
Plus Anime can eliminate bad human traits (moles fat etc) and animes can't pass judgement etc. They are only what you want them to be.
A lot of people are into it.

Not really, its just a specific preference which you can't personally help. Some men like north european women with blonde hair and blue eyes, some women prefer Latino or Indian men with dark hair and brown eyes.
