Yeah, but it's more likely that it had something to do with your fly being down and your perennial refusal to wear underpants.

Yes it's very likely that you didn't get the job for that reason. Why? Because of a few reasons...some punk kids had to shoot up a school because they got mad, that sticks in peoples minds and they probably don't want to have to worry about pissing you off and getting a gun in their face. And another reason, people are uptight (and sometimes in good reason) about guns. Depending on the person handling the gun, the gun itself isn't dangerous. If you can carry a concealed weapon (I'm thinking about guns) then you got a concealed carrying permit which you took a class and test for. Therefore, you know the safe way of carrying them and using them. Now if you are talking about other concealed weapons then, I don't know. I know if you are working in retail you need some protection, I've never had so many threats on my life- those shoplifters get angry when you catch them.

Unless you are working as an undercover police officer or jewelry salesman, working with diamonds, it is safe to assume that they DO have a policy regarding concealed weapons. That policy is:
NO CONCEALED WEAPONS AT THE WORKPLACE, FOR ANY REASON OR AT ANY TIME.
As long as you respect this general policy, it should be fairly easy to obtain employment. Best wishes in your search.

Unless your employer issues you a weapon, asking this will definitely NOT get you in the door. Fair? No. But that is the way life is. You have to play the game by their rules.

You know I took this question as the opposite as everyone else. I assumed the person was asking for his/ her own safety thinking of others carrying concealed weapons.
I would try to rephrase that question in the future. Especially if it is you wanting to carry the weapon.

Why would you ask a question such as that unless you were in some law enforcement type position. I think an interviewer may be skeptical if a potential employee walks thru the door asking those types of questions....safety first, especailly of others...

You must have come across as a violent psycho person who might smuggle a gun in and then go postal. It is best not to ask that kind of question at your job interview and look it up in the employee handbook later.

You should not have shot your mouth off.. You should have made your point and knifed right through all the chit chat. Join the club. I always carry some salt and a battery with me at interviews for good luck.

I think it was bringing the six pack of beer to the interview that did it in for you. You could have at least offered the interviewer one, instead of chugging them all yourself.

I am not sure if that would be the case for just asking. Did you also "flash" the weapon?

It's not only possible, it's highly likely.

It may not be fair but you weren't exactly hard done.
