Why are these descriptions used anyway?
Nobody says: "Look, there goes a heterosexual!
What do you think of, when you hear that?
Sex? Of course you do - these words imply
a sexual orientation.
To use these words to describe somebody is
rude and show that your mind is in the gutter.

The first thing that comes to mind are just that...Gays, Lesbians, and Homosexuals. The same thing is true if I hear other words or descriptions of people. Certainly there is prejudice, but Gays don't have a corner on the market. We don't like fat people, short people, Hispanics, Blacks, Christians, Atheists, people on welfare or those with too much money. The only problem I have with anyone are those who walk around with a chip on their shoulder, inviting people to knock it off. The other day I saw some kids hanging in a mall...this one guy had orange spiked hair, tie-dyed tank top and metal hanging from every possible body orifice. They were busy bad-mouthing all the people gawking at them, instead of just being cool with who they were. People are prejudice, but that's not against the law, and Gays should stop feigning shock that people harbor it.

The first thing i think when i hear that is....
Misunderstood, Pride, Confused, Fear and Strength and Happy.
Let me clear it up really quick. MISUNDERSTOOD because a lot of society is still unaware of what makes us all what we are. They always think that because we are gay or lesbian that we are going to hit on them.. or molest their children or we all have AIDS or are HIV Positive. They think we are trying to take over the world.. etc... ive heard lots of different things. PRIDE because The community has pride in whom they are no matter what people think of us... We are happy being us because that is who we are. We don't live our lives by what people think or HOW they think we should live it. CONFUSED... well ive noticed that there are alot of people whom are gay or lesbian and are still not "out" to everyone because they are confused by their emotions. They dont want to let people know because they dont want to be disowned by family or friends. FEAR because as sad as it is to say... being a gay or lesbian is dangerous. As long as there are stupid people out there that think violence against us will solve the problem or that it will make us "ungay" there will always be fear and on the other hand we will always have the strength we need to come together and stop this needless stuff. Last but not least... HAPPY... I am happy being me... yes i am a woman loving woman and no dont care what anyone thinks about it. Its what makes me happy and what makes me...well.. me!

"Gay"-->"my friends"
"Lesbian"-->"my friends"
"Homosexual"-->"A rather narrow scientific term, lacking emotion, describing a group that has been a hot topic in politics and has faced a large amount of discrimination, while bisexuals, trans-people, and intersex individuals are completely left out of the equation"
...Yes, I think too much sometimes
