When Babe Ruth retired with 714 HRs, no one else had even 400. They said no one will ever break Babe Ruth's HR record.
In the 1960s, one baseball book stated that Ty Cobb's record of 892 stolen bases "is not likely to be broken" (Lou Brock was then in his rookie season.
About 1972 or 73, Baseball Digest ran an article stating that 3,000 strikeouts is the "toughest mark for pitchers"... At that time, only Walter Johnson had reached that plateau, and the article stated that Bob Gibson was the only (then) active player with a shot at 3,000 Ks... Jim Bunning was, at the time, 2nd on the all time list with just over 2,800 Ks... Turns out that NINE pitchers who were then active later cleared 3,000 Ks... Three other pitchers who had not started their careers at that time also cleared 3,000, those being Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens and Greg Maddux.
In the Sept 1972 Baseball Digest, an article stated that Roberto Clemente will perhaps be the last player in history to accumulate 3,000 hits (Clemente was the 11th player to do so)... I can't even count how many guys have done that since then... (EDIT: I just looked it up...there are now TWENTY SIX members of the 3,000 hit club... more than double the amount of members in that club back in 1972).
So no, Glavine will not be the last 300 game winner... it may or may not become more rare, but it will be done again. Don't ask by whom...

Doubtful. Pedro Martinez has 202 wins and is only 34. As long as he stays healthy, Pedro has a good shot at 300.
Also, even though Glavine looks like a lock, he is stilll 16 wins short and anything can happen.
Another person who could make it is Randy Johnson. He is at 270 wins although I wouldn't bet my money on him reaching 300.

No.
I don't know if Randy Johnson will do it, he might because he wants to add to his Hall of Fame Career, but he will be playing till he's at least 45.
Pedro, yeah, will do it.
There is too big of a gap right now to predict the next one. No one has been on a tear of late that says, "because of 6 years in a row of 20 wins, this guy is going to be lock".
That doesn't mean anything though...
Jim Palmer won 20 games a bunch of times. Didn't get to 300 wins though.
Pitchers need to be very durable.

Don't count out Mike Mussina. He's at 232 and he's 38, playing with the Yankees, who will likely give him MANY chances to win.
