I hear so many people saying such things as "I seen him..." intead of "I saw him" or "I seen that movie" instead of "I have seen that movie". It makes me crazy to think that so many people in America cannot speak properly...or they don't want to.

Often it is a local habit or colloquialism, which is quite acceptable in everyday speech, but not acceptable in formal speech or writing. Not a big deal to me.

Considering all the ways people butcher grammar, I think this one makes a lot of sense. Say it fast several times, "I've seen it." The "v" simply disappears, or at least it does for me. And since it's perfectly comprehensible in fast speech, it's not a big leap for it to make sense in slower speech.

It may not be correct in writing, but neither is 80% of human speech.

When they were young, their family members and others didn't correct them, when they used "seen" incorrectly--most folks are quite illiterate, so they don't see anything wrong with incorrect use of the English language.

Because they were not in class learning! They were to busy screwing and doing drugs!

Why don't the teachers correct the student instead of letting them go about life being ignorant!

Yes, it makes us all a little crazy. Unfortunately we have no way to control the social settings that instigate bad grammar.
