Drink a lot of Green Tea instead. It helps soften the placenta as well for easier afterbirth. Also balsamic vinegar is a good source as well, so eat salads with balsamic vinegrette or find a good Italian Restaurant and order Eggplant Parmesean. There is a restaurant in Atlanta called Scalini's and they are famous for putting women into labor with their Eggplant.

I successfully used castor oil with my first child, but I will warn you, it may intensify contractions for you. Mine started within 5 minutes of taking 2 tablespoons of the oil (fyi: it tastes awful) and my water broke within 15 minutes. I had a very intense labor that went on for over 24 hours and my midwife said this was because the original contactions were not true labor, only caused by the oil. I would not personally recommend it unless you are late and being faced with artificial induction anyhow (I was 9 days late when I took it).
The one good thing I do know about using castor oil versus other methods is that if your body is not ready, it will not force labor to start. You will probably just wish you hadn't taken it and want to be near a restroom for the rest of the day. : )
Good luck.

I used it on my 3rd pregnancy. My previous 2 I had to be induced. The first night I took it I threw it up. Did it again the same night with milk. Drink it very fast! I woke up a few hours later with contractions, after 3 hours they stopped. Tried it two nights later, with milk, went to bed woke up a few hours later and my water had broke. You have to take it right before you go to bed! Lay down and let it work. I supposedly irritates your uterus. But your body and the baby have to be ready. I know it works because I never went into labor naturally until I tried the castor oil. I suggest using it, as long as you go right to bed so it can work. Good Luck.

My wife used it to induce. After about 16 hours, her water broke. But then labor took about 30 hours and she had the worst case of the runs. It was not pretty. She had to go to the bathroom often during labor!

I guess it might work (We also tried sex, and that may have been the kicker) but it is an uncomfortable exoerience. (Sh!t through a goose!)

I haven't but about 5 of my friends did and the solution to throwing it up was to put it in some orange juice and you won't even taste it. One girl though she started having labor pains and went and laid down and because she didn't keep moving she ended up no going into labor at all and when she tried it again it didn't work at all. So if you do use it be prepared for pain and keep moving. Also they discovered that if you walk up stairs with your legs really far apart and bring them up high with every step it helps greatly....was it you I already told this to? Sorry if it was...... Good luck anyway!
