Sounds like you'd be a good teacher!! You might want to also think of behind the scenes politics - policy development, operations, etc. You could also become a lawyer! You have lots of options!

There are a lot more options than what these guys are saying. I have HUNDREDS of interning opportunities while I was in school and many job offers when I graduated. I majored in political science and minored in criminal justice. The opportunities are out there, you just have to find them.

If you really enjoy learning and expanding your knowledge, try government jobs:

1) STATE DEPARTMENT: warning - their test is very difficult, and I believe you can only take it once a year.

2) CIA -or - FBI - everything from nabbing counterfeiters to gathering intelligence information

3) NSA - I know absolutely nothing about them, and maybe it's better that way, but check out their job opportunities.

It's always better if you can speak a second language, but not absolutely required for all positions. Besides, they have good training.

Teaching. I have the same background as you. I was a history and philosophy double major with a minor in political science.

Now, I teach English as a foriegn languge in Japan. It is great.

Perhaps you can become a political scientist and teach history on the side as a part time job.

Hope you like scrubbin toilets because, unless you can speak a foriegn language that is in high demand and low supply, that is basically what your career options are.
