I did a check by phone and then was suppossed to destroy the check but I ended up making it out to someone else. Will the bank cash both checks or just the first one? Thanks!!!

The one over the phone will probably be submitted electronically.

Its no big deal, the checks are numbered for the customers benefit. The bank usually sumarizes the checks presented for payment on your statement for your reference to what was paid.

I bought designer checks a few years back, and found my name spelled wrong. I was out of checks and had to use the ones that were wrong anyways. Then when the corrected checks came they had started at the same number and I used them with no problem. I did call the bank to ask, and they said it was fine.

i wouldnt worry too much. at the bank i work at, we'll clear both of the checks no problem as long as the customer knows who the check were made payable to. you should call and ask though because all bank's policies are different. You may need to put a stop payment on one of them.

They wont like that at all. I have a friend that ran in to that problem. It would be best to call the bank ASAP and explain what happend. That way they will watch for the check and take care of it.

call the bank and ask them. it might be check fraud but it may also just be a way for the company to track things and to use electronic check services

They will both clear, as long as there are funds in the bank, and you'll get a call from the bank about it.

Both checks... if I get you correctly (cause it is a little confuse) your bank will charge you for the 2 checks ...

you should call the bank and ask them, policies are different for different banks. but also this will let them know there is no "fraud" or "bad checks" going on.
