probably because they are late for something, and there are 10 parking spaces per block, and 50 cars per block, and people can't parallel park and drive like @$$holes, so they are frustrated from driving by the time they need to park.
They want to get the heck out of the car!

If you are in the US i wont be surprized. I think people dont like walking and have adopted that life style.
The best way is to take public transport - no parking fees (5 $ an hour - depends on location) + walking 100-200 mtrs is not a real problem .. is it?

I seen a program in the UK about this. When a person (mostly guys, sorry) is driving they have the area in their car in which only they are in full control. When another driver violates this persons 'space' by cutting them up or stealing a parking space it triggers anger which was only useful when we were cave dwellers. Not all people react this way but it's sad that it's common enough to have it's own name. Road Rage, has actually driven people to murder! I believe Bill Hicks had it right when he said "Smoking pot should not only be legal, for some folk it should be mandatory. The guy in traffic HONK HONK HONK HONK HONK 'Shut up and smoke this'......."

Probably because they are Ar*******, I take it this has happened to you, some people are just rude, some people think that they ONLY are intitled to a parking space close to where they are going. It has also happened to me....... and I gently explained to them that the same road rules apply to parking areas... they told me to F*** off.... so I guess some people are just W***ers. Oh and by the way...... those idiots that told me off not only took the parking spot, they scraped the side panel of another car parked next to them........ I got all the details.... hope it cost them a fortune.

Its really funny when people fight over parking spaces so they don't have to walk so far to get into the gym!

LOL I haven't run into this problem yet. Maybe that's because I choose to park all the way down to avoid this problem. But, yes people are jerks and to bad for them.

because it was mine first, that little old lady can park in the back and walk her way up like the rest of us.
