I have a johndeere 425 and was woundering why the engine oil is all full of gas any ideas? If the tractor had alot of gas in it mixed in with the oil would that cause a miss or cause it to run on 1 cylinder it is a twin 4 stroke, I was thinking its a carb problem?

Are you in a climate that gets cold in the winter? If so, did you leave the gas in the engine? If you did that maybe your problem. Drain the old gas, change to new spark plugs, and try again. Good luck.

Your motor needs some serious attention. Gas in the motor won't cause a 'miss'.

Your carb float is sticking or set incorrectly. GASOLINE is washing into your motor. This is BAD for a motor.

You MUST change the oil in that motor, and have the carbeurator FIXED. You CAN do it yourself if you get a carb rebuild kit and KNOW how to do it, resetting the float levels and setting it up to run properly with the needle valves.

gas in oil wont cause it to miss the problem is the spark plug is not firing thus causing gas to compress and wash down cylinder wall and cause scratching in cylinder wall and leaking gas into crank case ... it may not be too late try this change spark plugs with new ones drain oil and replace leaving room for an additive called restore (get it at any walmart)add it to your oil about half can and start it it will probably smoke for a while but the teflon in restore will seal scratches in cylinder wall thus stop leaking rings that leak gas into crank case.

2 words "needle valve" in your carb the float is connected to the needle valve which if held onpen allows for gas to run into the engine even if it is not runing. just try unsticking it and if that dont work replace it
(i had this same problem)

Not needle valve.....correct name is inlet needle.

Make sure the float isn't stuck, and it isn't full of gas (the float itself) and of course......if its quite old, a new inlet needle and seat kit.... go ahead and replace em. The answer above..... don't follow it.....
