Imagine how we conservatives feel when they can't get anything done!

Pretty pissed that our party hasn't been very conservative... Fiscally conservative - the war spending I understand, but pork spending? Oh no!
Tanked the immigration issue. Bush came in with a fair bit of the hispanic vote & a plan that would have helped pick up much more of this growing population. Now we're going to pass nearly the same plan & piss off the voting block that caused us to do it? Bad idea!
Looked bad getting judges in!
Social Security? Couldn't get anything done even though it's going to crap in just a few years, will never be there in any form by the time I retire, and will seriously hurt the US economy on the way down. Yet all we did was take the hit for talking about it.
Doing the right thing overseas, but looking bad & taking too long to do it. We couldn't have put 500k troops in there to crush that place from the start & be done with Iran by now too?

We knew in advance that Bush was not the best leader we have & that he's more liberal than 80% of our party, but we needed to take the middle to win the election & accpeted that we wouldn't get much done, but YES I'm not happy that what congress has accomplished these last 6 years has been non-conservative in nature. We'll still keep congress this fall though & I think win the Pres again in 08, I'm really looking forward to watching democrats freak out when that happens.

g - wants to pontificate about his brilliance and understanding of national and international politics and government but apparently does not understand how a bill comes to be. What a shock.

Hmm, maybe that 4th grade government class was more important than you thought.

Though democrats are a minority by a small margin overall, they still have the ability to prevent introduction of anything related to the committee's they still may have an advantage in.

On certain topics, such as immigration, I would far rather have nothing done than have the wrong thing (like anything resembling the Senate Bill) passed.

... I thought the one good thing about the Republican majority would be "hey, maybe they will do something"...

I have been disappointed as well...

Yeah, the country is in the crapper and it just proves all along what we already knew: it's your fault.
