I'm not saying all do so hear me out. I grew up ina small town where cheating was a pretty rare or at least not talked about. Now i live in a amilitary town and guys that are stationed here practicly advertised that they are married but looking for sex elsewhere and alot of wives that are here while their man is off in Iraq dont see it as cheating? Is it acceptable to cheat just because you are in the military or associated with it??? People I know and know of use it like its an excuse that its ok.

I think that is because a lot of people are getting married because the guy is going to war and they want to take care or be taken care of. I live in a huge military town and see it all the time. A friend of mine cheated on her husband like ten times while he was away in a shithole desert. It's not right if you are not ready to be married than don't do it! I feel bad for these guys who have wives here at home spending all thier money and sleeping around..

Quite some time ago, when I was married to my now ex-husband, we lived in San Antonio. He was in the military. We'd just been married over a year and I caught him having an affair. Actually his little girlfriend made sure I knew. I guess she thought he would leave me.

Anyway, we went to a Catholic military priest on post for counselling. This priest looked me in the eye and said, you might as well get used to it. Men cheating are a fact of life. I wanted to slap him. He more or less told my husband it was ok. So, as you might guess, he kept right on cheating.

I knew another guy that bragged that he was 100% faithful when his wife was around, but when she wasn't, anything goes.

It's not that the military teaches it's ok. It's just the jerks in the military that seem to overlook it and cover for each other. They are not taught morals, just taught to defend our country.

no it's not okay to cheat. I know that it is hard to say no whenyou are seperated but if they don't have enough controll then they should not have got married in the first place or they should have chosen a different career. Just my opinion. Married for 14 years. And hubby goes over the road. We are both still very faithful. Also some people have "conversation" over the phone.

its ok to cheat as long as we know why and we know the consequences, but the way i see it is if you feel the need to cheat why not just tell the person you are with before you do it, break up or divorce him/her, life is too short to be wasting your time or someone elses, because that is exactly what you are doing when you cheat, however I dont believe the military consciously trains troops to be promiscuous, but being away from someone u care for a long time can only have negative effects.

No, it's not okay to cheat no matter what the circumstance is. Also, I don't know if most people are aware of this or not but if military personnel are caught or turned in for adultery they are dishonorably discharged from the military. They will lose all benefits. The military is not training our troops to act that way and they don't tolerate it.

The thing you need to look for is the ones who lie and say they aint married and their wives actually are in another state living. I was with this guy for bout 2 weeks in Army then after we slept together i finally had to drag it outta him the he was actually still married . So cheatin aint right any way you put it reguardless if they are in the military
