Your computer is posessed by a ghost who thinks you drink coffee all the time so when you turn on your pc it thinks you need a drinks holder.... Sorry, kidding. It may be a loose connection with the internal cables. Do you have one of the keyboards that has a button to open the drive? If so it may be a fault with that. How old is the pc?

A simple answer needed? So here it is: Do you use an program that support "open CD drive when startup", specially music player, if the CD drive only open when your computer play welcome music, so it could be that! Disable the " open CD drive when startup" option and this trouble will be carried out.

usually it is bad, it is trying to read and cannot initialize. sometimes it is a softwae glitch, if it dows it before windows starts, then it is the drive, you will need a new one, I have about 30 here in my shop just like it
