Condi would have trouble being so closely associated with the war, but Powell... he opposed it internally & called for massively more troops, balanced out Rumsfeld (a role that needs filling since he left), then left office before Bush dropped like a rock, plus his own war record. He'd be awsome.
I do like JC Watts also, but as a VP candidate to balance a liberal republican (McCain), especially if they're from the north (Rudy, Romney, etc)
I think it'd be excellent for republicans to be first on this & leave behind stereotypes that they are about rich white oil execs or some BS like that! Open it up enough we can at least have a debate on the issues instead of everybody being so hateful.

Barack Obama is a brilliant young senator, and a great emotionally driven speaker. Realistically, he can't run for a good 6 more years. He needs more than 4 years in the Senate to win though. Saving his chances for the future would make his campaign more valuable.
