Something about the stem cell whereby ferterlisation of the woman's egg can accidentally happen without copulation.
Please could anyone expand on that?

yeah, i've heard about something similar. scientists were taking a woman's egg and doing something to it to fertilize it without a sperm. out of about 300 fertilized eggs came 20 embryos came 1 embryo who survived the first few days. after that, none actually made it.

If you are talking about a female human, then the answer is no. The human female cannot reproduce asexually. A Tralfamadorian woman can. There are several sexes in the Tralfamdorian species, and some Tralfamadorian women can produce life without copulation.

The human female can however be cloned, by a scientist. That clone would possess your exact genetic makeup.

The only exception to the rule would be if a Tralfamadorian male psychically impregnates you. All I would have to do is envision the fetus inside your womb, and it would manifest, giving you a half human, half alien freak. I'm actually doing this right now. Your genetic oddity of a baby will be born prematurely in seven months and grow up to eventually eliminate the human race. Do not attempt abortion. It will render you comatose until death.

Cigar anyone? I'm going to be a daddy!

You've gotten it a bit confused. One of the best source of stem cells is from umbilical cord tissue. But stem cells don't contain eggs. And no, a woman can't.

Some animals can reproduce without any males around, but that's either because they clone themselves - if so, the offspring is always another female - or because some of the females change sex and become males.

Long-term, the variety resulting from male-female reproduction is healthier than cloning.

1. There is NO WAY you can get pregnant without a man's sperm.

2. About those stem cell, the experiments are usually done in vitro. So they take a woman's egg cell and probably bring it into contact with a sperm cell. Hence fertilization without copulation.

3. Definition of copulation: to engage in sexual intercourse.

Well, you need two sets of genetic information to get a complete genetic code. I have heard of two sperm being put together somehow to form a zygote, I dont know if they have done it with two eggs yet. But, I highly doubt if you can use two gamets from the same person to form a zygote. That is waaay beyond inbreeding.

Rest assured, it can NOT happen outside a laboratory setting and so far has only been accomplished in rats, to my knowledge. Some lower species can self impregnate, this is for survival of the species, and there is one mammal that can do this also, can't remember which one.

The only known person to have this happen would be Mary (mother of Jesus). In theory it could happen, in theory communism works, in theory we evolve from the same ancestors that fish evolved from, in theory...

Absolutely not. You need both male and female "parts", ie. eggs AND sperm.
