5x - 2y + 4 = 0 (i)
3x + 2y + 12 = 0 (ii)
(i) + (ii)

8x + 16 = 0
8x = -16
wherefore x = -2

sub x = -2 into eq (i)
-10 - 2y + 4 = 0
-6 = 2y
wherefore y = -3

x = -2 y = -3 wherefore your homework is done

48x+16 if you put a space inbetween "3x" and "4" on accident
17x+12 if the "3x" and "4" are being multiplied
8x+16 if it's really (5x-2y+4) + (3x+2y+12)
you just typed it wrong so theres alot of possibilities

I don't believe you people. This is not even an algebraic equation. It isn't even a problem . All you can do is simplify it. The first person who answered it is correct, 48x + 12

-2y and +2y cancel themselves out.
Add 5x and 43x = 48x +12

Is that a 43 in the middle?
if so then
5x-2y+43x+2y+12
=
48x + 12

assuming it is (5x-2y+4) + (3x+2y +12)....you weren't real clear...
then it would be 8x +16
broken down would be 8(x+2)

add both numbers with the same variables..

5x + 3x = 8x and since the y variable have the opposite signs, it can be cancelled out, the remaining equation is 8x= 16, divide both with 8 so the answer is x= 2

There's no 'solution' because there's NO PROBLEM here, just a bunch of variables and a few constants. Everyone who answered is just guessing at what you meant so they're all wrong. Learn english first and then try math.........

No equal sign.

No solving needed.

Thank you very much for the two points!
