I went with a bunch of friends to Disneyland and we were all having fun except one girl. It appears to me that she has some sort of fear of going on most of the rides except the really slow ones. She can't take spinning during the teacup ride and the Dumbo ride is a problem for her. She says that her whole body feels weak even before the ride started and I felt her breathing hard. Obviously we rode Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and many others without her. I feel bad but I am worried about her. Is it natural to be so scared? Could it be related to fear of heights or something?

Sounds to me she is afraid of heights, the best thing to help her over come is get her to walk a flight of stairs and look down while doing this. Or maybe she had a bad experience with something like the heights of some ride, or seen something bad happen. Ask her when nobody else is around to find out what the scoop is, she may just open up and tell you, but dont laugh at her when she does tell ya.

This is very common. Most people, like myself, don't like fast rides and are afraid of rollercoasters. I'm afraid of heights, so I refuse to go on to one and I don't like fast rides. I have a problem with feeling like it could cause me to fall out. When it comes to the rides that spin, some people have very weak-stomachs which could cause them to throw up during or after the ride. But don't worry, it's very common for your friend.

Two great answers. I take my family to theme parks every 2 months. The kids love the high, fast rides. I read and understand that these rides are built so it is impossible to fall out of them, unless you stood up!, but when I get on these rides, they terrify me!
So I stand by and wave! Even the whoville ride that goes up in the air at Universal scares me. And the mummy ride, indoors, gave me a fit!

OK, I am a coward. But at least they enjoy these rides.

Just let her practice riding the wimpy rides over and over so she builds up a tolerance.

She might just get migranes, and doesn't wan't to risk setting one of, or feel sick on more intense rides.
