Wow. 2K is a lot of money. If you just want to play you can buy XBox or Play station and connect it to your TV. It would be cheaper.

Yes, it is possible. You want a good CPU, a good graphics card and a lot of RAM. Shop around, see what kind of deals you can get at your local computer shops... for 2k, I'm sure you can put something together worth playing on.

Remember that your connection also has some bearing on how IF or Org are going to look. Remember also that if you go with a serious processor, you need to pay attention to the heat... if in doubt, get one of the stores to install for you and get a good fan and quality thermal paste.

most definitely. i am looking at a 2,500$ expenditure on my computer.

i will give you a list of the approximate specs for a $2000 gaming rig

case-$75-100 (full tower)
mobo-100$
processor-$300 (you need a high end one. i recommend an amd 4200 dualcore)
2 gigs of RAM- $150
graphics card- $300 either a highend 256MB or a cheaper 512MB card will suffice.
power supply-$100 (i recommend 500W or greater)
case fans-$50
hard drive-$100 (you can get a 250GB sata HD cheap these days)
cdrw/dvdrw drive-$60
floppy drive-20$
monitor-75$ (as cool as flat panels are, get a good old CRT monitor because they have better response time.)
OS-$90 windows XP home SP2
antivirus- $30

this comes to about $1600

for $2k you can buy an Alienware pc, these are top of the range gaming machines but WAAAAAYY overkill for WOW. I spent $1000 on mine, ($300 rebates) with a $150 graphics card and extra RAM and there's nothing it won't play. Best bet is to call bestbuy or somewhere like that, tell em what you want to spend and they'll tell you the best rig.

Gee, I think I might be able to squeek by with that amount of cash to spend! YESSIR! Dual-Core processor, 2-3GB of RAM, Western Digital Raptor hard drives, Asus mobo, Plextor DVD+-RWs(2), 600 Watt P.S., 512MB Video card, All-in-Wonder capture card, and surround it with a nice Cooler Master "Centurion 5" "Tool-less" case. Yup, that should do it!
