I'm new-ish here-- but is there a reason people need to use statements like:

"damn are you clueless"

If someone doesn't know, does that make them clueless or stupid? Why answer a question if it's not in the spirit of true assistance? Go take your anger out on someone else? I mean, I don't know Japanese, but I don't feel clueless about it...

Anyway, "Digital cable" programming contains a signal with higher quality picture and sound even though it's transmitted on the same physical cable as analog (basic) cable.

In Arizona, the only channels I can get on basic cable go up to #99, so HBO, ESPN, etc. aren't even transmitted on that level. That's how it was when I got it 2 years ago; it may be different now.

Also, with digital cable, I get the tuner box and GUIDE service. I love the guide for the info it tells you and how much easier it makes it to plan when I watch or record.

Yes, it's more expensive than basic, but most companies let you step down to a lower level without fees, since there's usually no contract.

Good luck!

All cable is now digital. Standard vs digital, is just one of the packages that Time Warner sells.
They have several different packages, and they will give you a list of them.
If you are looking for espn and espn 2,. then you need to order that package. They are included in the basic package, around $40.00.
They do have special deals when you sign up, They will have to come out, and deliver a box, and connect you up. It's easier if you have cable installed already in your house or apartment.
Give TW a call, they will give you all the details and prices.

standard cable is analog, Digital cable is well digital and provides a better sound and picture and you get more channels. Digital cable is not that expensive. I personally would look into getting either Dish Network or Direct TV since they tend to be cheaper.
