Get to the hospital!!! Do you mean they last for 8 seconds and are 2-3 minutes apart? If they are 8 seconds apart, that can't be right.. not possible.. Do you feel anything else? Pressure? Weird discharge? Bloody show? Send me an email and we'll figure it out..

How long have you been having the contractions for? Do they hurt in your belly and around to your back? Are you having any sort of discharge? Are the contractions very painful? 8 seconds is not very long for a contraction to last.. my best guess is that these are probably braxton hicks contractions, however if you're worried, call your doctor or midwife or go to the hospital to be checked.

Since you're due reasonably soon my guess is that you are feeling "Braxton and HIcks" contractions. They are sort of like practice contractions for real labor. They can be pretty hard contractions but they stop and start during the last weeks of pregnancy. If they don't stop in a couple of hours you might want to check with your dr. to be sure. And definitely tell the dr. about it at your next check-up.

Call 911, or have someone take you to the hospital. If your reading this, you should have done this already.
