Homosexuals don't "turn" gay; they are born that way. And homosexuality is nothing to be scared about. There is an organization that can help you with your scary thoughts. It's called PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays). So whether you are worried about possibly being gay or you are worried about a friend, they are there to support you 100%.
General site: http://www.pflag.org/
Site for "Getting Support - Coming Out" for GLBT Persons:
http://www.pflag.org/For_GLBT_Persons.comingout_glbt.0.html
Also Yahoo Answers has a category for LGBT that's under "Cultures & Groups" that is under "Society & Culture." Don't hesitate to post more questions over there, OK?

Just so you know, there are several ideas tossed about on non-homosexuals turning gay.
Some think that being gay is inborn, ie. a gene that makes one gay, so you might start out straight, but discover that yes, in fact, you are gay by genetic inheritance.
Some think that homosexuality is learned behaviour, i.e. watch, learn and do it, or be seduced or taught, try it and like it and stay that way.
Others think that it is a fee choice because of discomfort of some kind with the OTHER sex, ie. therefore it's safer to be with the sex one IS.
Still others think that homosexuality is the result of an abuse issue as a child, ie. a boy abused by his mother tends to identify more with his father.
NOT scary at all, just humanity at work (and play).

I am bisexual and I can tell you that I never 'turned' into what I am, I have always been this way. I don't see why you are affraid. If you think your friend "turned gay" you're wrong, they always were but never told you. If you think you may be "turning gay" I can't say that you are 100 percent wrong because everyone is different, but I certainly wouldn't believe you. You must have just been in denial until now or something. I wish you didn't find this frightening... It's normal and perfectly okay.

I really don't think people "turn gay". Either you are or you aren't, or you're not sure and go the bi route.
