I work with my step-father and younger brother. I am a receptionist work from 9am-8pm 6 days a week. Working with my step -father is like having my a$$ lit on fire. Because he doesn't believe in lunch breaks or having someone to relieve you.

Well I work for my dad. He is an ok boss. I sometimes get mad at him but I can't show it because I have to be respectful to him in front of the other employees...So that definately sucks. But other than, its nice!

My first job, I worked with my Father. He was a Chemical Engineer and I was a Secretary where he worked. It may it very hard because if someone disagreed with me, I would be "threatened" with "I'm going to tell your Father". It made it very hard on me.

It really depends on who the family member is. If it is a parent, then there's that "not really being co-workers" thing that happens. You will still be considered a child.

If it's a sibling and depending on the job, it may be a fun experience.

I once got my Mom a job at a place I worked that didn't allow family members. My Mom was remarried and had a different last name and had lots of years and skill at this type of work. It was only suppose to be a summber job and last for a few months but management saw how good she was and soon she was running her own department.
Well, you see this is when it started getting a little of of hand, because their was this girl working with my Mom that keep giving me the eye and I tryed my best to keep away from her, but after 6 months or so I got hooked....lol.
Somewhere in the middle of all of this my little brother was out of work when this injection Molding company went out of bussiness and we were looking for a 2nd shift foreman, He also had a different last name from me and my Mom (tells ya something about the age of sex drugs and rock and roll).
So it's like wedding day right and of course my boss is there and even the company president and vice president (who would have figured it, only sent then invites to be polite)
At your wedding your not suppose to be thinking a whole lot except the matter at hand, but I'm doing the walk down the isle and in the front row Mom, Dad, Boss, Brother, vice pres, pres.
and my wife still never met my family that she knew of.
After the wedding part I introduced my wife to my Mom her boss, and someone that she confided in about "boyfriend problems"
The Company President Was enjoying talking to my dad who introduced his wife (My Mom) to him.
Soon everybody met everybody that they already knew, oh boy!
Upon my return we all sort of got split up to different buildings in different cities.
So all I got to say is at least it could be intresting!

hell yes. I work in a family business My mom is my boss. My aunt also works here but in Las Vegas ( I work in L.a. ) and my aunt's daughter she works in the office with me in l.a. Then another girl who has been working for my mom for ever she recently moved next to me. Its fun. Sometimes the family thing gets on my nerves but I just try to keep everything between 9-5 wk related although once my cousin and i got into it an she threaten to slap me ( i have never been in any kind of fight) and I told her to bring it on. Good luck. The family thing can be cool when you need days off or to leave early and stuff but it sometimes is a headache

Yeah. I worked with my Mom and Stepdad and my sisters for a long time. It was okay, but given the choice I wouldn't do it again. I don't think working and living with someone is such a good idea.

I worked at a bank where my grandfather was the Senior Vice President. At first, people treated me a lot different because they thought I would "run and tell". But after I made myself clear to my grandfather and to all my co-workers that I will succeed on my own... I was a lot happier. I felt proud that I could do it on my own!

I worked with my sister at 2 different jobs, our first was at a daycare, absolutely wonderful! Our second was at a drycleaners, and I trained her in, we got on great. We'd carpool, and give eachother tips on doing a better job. I loved it. Now I work with my mom as a finantial managers assistant! I've had dozens of jobs "alone" and loved them too. But working with family brings us closer and I like that!

my cousin and i worked at a law firm. It was great to have someone go on your lunch breaks with, and also someone to gossip at the job with when your home. Its a good idea not to work with someone who is controlling or very aggressive.

Yes, I've worked with 3 of my cousins at once and my cousin's grandmother (on their dad's side) was our boss. It was really fun at times becuse I always had a friend and someone to talk to but sometimes it was really annoying sometimes because our co-workers hated us because they thought we got special attention. Our job required us to travel to different states so it was fun to have my family with me.
