Who knows?

Walk to the nearest shop.

Then the second nearest.

One day at a time my friend, but you have to get out.

No-one is gonna do it for you.

You had a life, and one step at a time you can have another.

Enjoy the other answers, and good luck.

Well, think about the mindset that you had when you were more socially assertive. You obviously enjoyed being involved in other people's lives as well as other activities not relating to yourself. Since you mentioned the 'freshman blues' and you are out of high school I assume that you're in college. College is a very demanding pursuit that takes up a great deal of time, energy and money. With all the focus on writing exams, studying for tests and applying for financial aid, it's all too easy to let those things eat up your time to the extent that you neglect of your social life. Simply put, balance is needed between your personal needs and academic demands. Get involved with a club, sport, religion or other activity in which you can find those with a common interest and build up a social network. Learn to schudule your time well so that you can have time for relaxation and socialization between your studies. Just remember to keep everything in balance and you will do fine.

It sounds like you may be depressed even if you do not think so. By isolating yourself you are avoiding rejection. Try going for a walk each day and enrol in a gym or night school to try and mix with people before you lose the skill.
Have you any family ? also try and get some councelling to help you understand yourself and give you courage to go out into the big wide world.

hun even geeks have friends.
This is what you should do.
(If your under 18): Start out next year by making friends crakc out of your shell let the world see how hot you are have fun enjoy life, but do everyhing legal. Meet a nice gal or guy and make happiness just don't turn into another type of person we don't need in the world.
(If your over 18): Get a cute outfit a job and start meeting people you need to grow up and meet even a dating partner always being on the compuer is gonna get you a whole bunch of pixels but nothing to show for it.

Not if you don't go out surely? You say you are not depressed then you think you might have the 'blues'.Either you are depressed or you have lost your confidence. Make the effort. Eat energy giving foods and do some exercise then go out and do something in the fresh air before your winkle drops off.

maybe u are just enjoying a bit of 'alone' time right now? im sure u will venture out when u have had enough. im a loner, i like alot of alone time! im pratically a hermit! but thats how i like it. im sure for u tho, its just a phase and your social life will pick up again. by the way, there is nothing wrong with geeks! i kinda like them meself.

give yourself time, you obviously just need your own company at the moment, nothing wrong with that, your probably of that age where your body is re mapping it'self. i went through stages where all i wanted was my own company and just listened to music and played my guitar, and yes of course your social life will develope, just give it time ok.

you are in a new setting and it takes time to meet people with similar interests, soon you will miss the days when you could sit back and relax without anybody bugging you

Ask yourself the questions that count!

Without comparing myself to others...how do I feel about the quality/intensity/amount of pleasure/excitment level of my life...do each out of 10?
what will it take to get those scores to a higher level?
Whats stopping me from doing it?
what action do I take?
