Well, I'm going to keep your price and needs in mind for this one.

You want an LCD; their easier on the eyes, use less power, and use less space. You want to get one with good brightness (at least 300 cmd/m2) and a response time that is 8ms or less. Otherwise, you get "ghosting", which is blur from cheaper LCD's. You'll want one with DVI; it's much clearer than VGA. Make sure that your video card has it (white plug); otherwise, just use the VGA (blue).

My recommendation? It isn't $200, but it's close enough and the quality is worth it:

i theory there grow to be a impressive form of controversy over even if or not they actually did desensitize youthful ones contained in the lengthy run or not. i comprehend there exist different study with assistance from study psychologists that say there is no desensitizing from violent video games. yet i'm not an authority on that subject matter, so I received't say one way or the different. Eh. besides, i imagine it truly is as a lot because the mummy and father discretion...same as with violent videos. Plus, video games have rankings (like videos) that fogeys can use as a handbook to carry close in the adventure that they are even ideal for the youngster's age.

bigger is always better but either way get a lcd flat screen its better on your eyes. a CRT or tube monitor makes your eyes focus over 20k times and hour im not sure about the flat screen but i know it is much less.
