When was Microsoft first introduced to the general population?

I need to know the year. Also, when was it introduced in Canada? And any other little pieces of information about Microsoft that aren't well known.

in 1986 microsoft was commonplace in desktop pc's with DOS. windows 1.0 was also released in 1986. google it

Founded in 1975. Don't know about Canada, though.
