Love is different to EVERYONE. So it's kind of a hard one, but I've always gone with this one
Love is giving someone the power to destroy you completely, but trusting them not to. Good luck

Love is "A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance. "
Well, yeah, that's the classic definition. Basically, "If he's the first thing you look for when you walk into a room, then it's gotta be more than just friendship". I agree with you, many people have really low standards for love, and way too many people consider crushes as "love". The best way to know if it's just a crush or more than a crush is to look at how long it's been going on for. When someone meets another person, their brain forms an opinion of them. Sometimes, your brain makes you think so well of the other person that for a short period of time, this person is all you can think about. You tend to see them as absolutely perfect. This period lasts about three months, and during that time, you can't make decisions correctly when it concerns that person, and you're often confused. It's called LUST.
So basically, if it's going on for much longer than three months, it's probably not just a crush.
Also, true love usually starts off with just plain friendship. You can't really have a sincere relationship if you aren't friends with the person in the first place. So chances are if you're not friends, it's just, once again, a crush.
Oh, and if it's really true love, you shouldn't:
1) Be too jaleous if someone else is flirting with the person you like or something (but still a bit jaleous)
2) Think of the person as perfect.
Well, I hope that helps :)

A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
A person who is the object of deep or intense affection or attraction; beloved. Often used as a term of endearment
Love is a condition or phenomenon of emotional primacy, or absolute value. Love generally includes an emotion of intense attraction to either another person, a place, or thing; and may also include the aspect of caring for or finding identification with those objects, including self love. Love can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience usually felt by a person for another person. Love is commonly considered impossible to describe.
The concept of love, however, is subject to debate. Some deny the existence of love, calling it a recently invented abstraction. Moreover, approximately 13 percent of cultures reportedly have no word for love. Others maintain that love exists but is undefinable; being a quantity which is spiritual, metaphysical, or philosophical in nature. Love is one of the most common themes in art.
Love can make you happy but also sad, love can make you stong but also weak, love can give you life but it can also kill you. LOVE, the most beautiful and important thing on this earth.

Well depending on your age, love means different things. Real Love- is when you know you wouldnt be able to go on without that person. Your whole world would tumble down around you if that person left you in any manner. Teen love - is when you think about this person all the time and worry about if he is popular or cute or how you look with him. You worry over your looks when you are with that person. Family/Friends Love- is when you love your family and friends and trust them with your life. They support you no matter what you look like, what you do or say.

There is no definition for love. It's an emotion just like anger or nervousness. It does come and go for some while it stays for others. It's really over rated, just like Christmas.
Love is no more than an emotion.

Websters defines love as: 1 Strong affection for anyother arising out of kinship or personal ties 2 attraction based on sexual desire. 3 affection based on tenderness, etc. I define love as Realizing you want to spend the rest of your life with someone. Thinking about them all the time, and missing when they are gone for just 10 min. Wanting to have sex with someone is not love. It is lust.

The definition of love is for a guy to do whatever a female tells him to do because he truly is only out for one thing only anyways, so he plays along just to do so. He really doesn't want to do a damn thing a female tells him to do because he's a natural born rebel, but sex by yourself isn't all that great. So she calls it love, he calls it bargaining but he tells you love because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. It's really bargaining lady, there's no such thing as love.

You're right, that's not love. If someone loves you, they'd never want to see you hurt. And a "hit and run" can be hurtful. They'll always consider your feelings and do what it takes to make you happy.
But while you're out loving someone else, be sure to love yourself!!

A mystical force that you don't need to believe in. It will mess your s*** up. But if you don't believe in it then you may actually find someone that works for you. Its just that stage in between "heeheehee I like you" and "Lets hit it right now"
Makes no sense that if you don't believe in it you will find someone, but I promise its the way to go.
