Of course, overconsumption of anything, even food, can be a problem. I mean more a problem in the Drug Czar sense.

Yes, I've had quite a bit in my day.

It makes you lazier than you would normally be, I run at about 75%.

If you can live with that, no problem.

I do !!!
So I have this little test I do when I am having trouble making a decision. It is called play the tape all the way through to the end, do you like where this takes you. Pot is no exception. Sure, at first it is fun and you get to have lots of "friends" that show up in your life all of a sudden. It isn't addictive, the high is short, yada yada yada. I had all the same rationalizations as the next stoner. But play that tape to the end. I used to rent out part of my house to these 50 year old pot heads. Daily pot smokers for 35 years. They were so dull! They were always high because it becomes a coping mechanism. They were struggling with money all the time, because it is an expensive habit, and they were lift operators at a ski resort. That is all they amounted to! The truth is it is illegal. Whether or not it should be is irrelevant. Because it is illegal smoking it restricts where you can work because of drug testing. If you get caught with it you have a record which also restricts your job opportunities. You can end up in jail!
If you smoke it, which most pot heads do, it has more tar than cigarettes so it leads to just as much throat, and lung cancer as cigarettes. The truth is it clouds you. You never get to be fully present in your life. It is a depressant, or in some of the fancier strains, a hallucinogen. It will lead to loss of ambitions and professional drive. It will restrict you physically and professionally, and it could lead to jail. It is a drug that gives you connections to other drugs that are not so gentle and non addictive. It is a gateway drug. The more time you spend smoking pot the more exposure you will get to other more serious drugs. Eventually, you will start to experiment and rationalize them too. So do I still think it is a problem. I played the tape through and yes, it is.

ps I do support legalization 100% because it would take away the gateway drug part of the problem but none of the rest of the stuff goes away. It still makes people lazy and kills brain cells.

First of all, it's against the law. Secondly, it effects a person's short term memory so they can't learn as well when marijuana is in their system. Third, people who smoke marijuana often use it to deal with bad feelings about their situation in life instead of seeking practical solutions just like people who turn to the bottle and get drunk to feel better do. Also it's not good for the lungs to inhale smoke on a regular basis and it's not a good investment of one's financial resources. And last, but certainly not least, it goes against the wise precept that God has given to us contained in this passage from the Bible which can apply to any substance that is used to give a person a temporary euphoric feeling.

"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;" Ephesians 5:15-18

Actually I'm not a chiefer at all, but I believe in legalization! I believe it is no more harmful than a cigarette, and when was the last time you heard of someone being charge with vehicular homocide because they smoke and drive? No? That's cause people who are high don't wreck, they miss their turn. Also, how many people do you know who say they wish smoking was legal so they could smoke? None, because people who want to smoke do. Everyone who's going to smoke smokes and we haven't seen anything terrible happen yet! LEGALIZE!!!

It was a part of my life in the past and all the baggage that goes with it. Life is 100% better without it. It affects every part of your life, relationships with your kid's, spouse, parents, etc. It kills needed brain cells. It's illegal. It always leads to other drugs. Look around you, don't you see the destruction. I've known and know many who use, still I wouldn't go back.

I think marijuana should be legalized. It would be great for terminal cancer patients as they are in a lot of pain and smoking would ease this for them. And yes, as a 60's flower child, I did smoke marijuana.

Anything can become a problem if a person lets it and if the "thing" is not used the right way.
