I WAS TOLD I WAS HAVING A BOY, I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD BOY NOW AND MY FIANCE HAS TWO OTHER BOYS FROM PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIPS, BUT THE DOCTOR SAID HE SAW A SCROTUM SAC IN THE ULTRASOUND BUT DIDNT SAY A PENIS, COULD HE BE WRONG? DO I STILL HAVE A CHANCE OF THE BABY BEING A GIRL I REALLY WANT ONE SO BAD. HE DID SAY HE THOUGHT BUT NEVER SAID CERTAIN AND HE SAID ULTRASOUNDS ARE NOT 100% PERCENT ACCURATE SO SHOULD I JUST ASSUME ITS A BOY OR GET A SECOND OPINION? MAYBE WAIT ANOTHER MONTH? WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLUS IM SHAPED THE SAME WAY I WAS WITH MY SON, IS IT TRUE IF YOUR ROUND ITS A BOY AND IF YOUR MORE WIDE ITS A GIRL IM JUST BELLY NO HIPS OR ANYTHING. BUT IF IT IS A BOY IM HAPPY BUT REALLY WANT A GIRL.

I,VE BEEN THERE THREE TIMES AND,BELIEVE ME, I DEDICATED THE WHOLE 27 MONTHS INVESTIGATING THE SUBJECT.
FIRST, THE SHAPE OF THE BELLY IS ALL JUST A FICTION, AND YOU SHOULD NEVER GO BY THAT. MY THREE BELLIES WERE "GIRLS" AND I HAVE THREE BOYS.
SECOND, THE FACT THAT THERE IS A SCROTUM SAC MAKES IT VERY LIKELY TO BE A BOY (LET'S SAY 90%) BUT IT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE US TECHNICIAN (SOMETIMES WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AN INCIPIENT SCROTUM IS IN FACT A SWOLLEN VULVA, WHICH HAPPENS A LOT)
THIRD, AT 24 WEEKS THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH DATA TO GIVE YOU A MORE PRECISE ANSWER. SOME US SCHOOLS LET YOU HAVE AN ULTRASOUND FREE, SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND DOUBLE CHECK...THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN A SECOND OPINION....GOOD LUCK!

You can always request another ultasound, whether insurance will pay for it again is another thing. If you don't care about that, then you could always ask to have another one done. With my last, I was high risk, so I got an ultrasound every month up until 30 weeks, then I got one every week, and every time I would have them check to make sure it was still a girl. The last pic I got of her, they could only get it from underneath her, like she was sitting on a glass table top. There was no question about it, she was for sure a girl!! Sometimes the angle they can get that day isn't as good as it could be, sometimes the baby won't let you see.

You can always ask for a repeat US. In some states, there are places you can go that do 4-D US's. You have to pay for them, but the detail is amazing and usually they can tell you with pretty sure accuracy. It's still not 100%, but close.

If your doctor says he saw a scrotum sac, then more then likely, it's a boy, but you can always get another opion, or a repeat.

It is possible that you can have a girl but if he saw a sac it is not likely. If you were 4 months along I would say you had a better chance of him being wrong but at 6 months it is pretty obvious unless he didn't get a clear view. You can wait another month but I hate to say it.. it he has been doing this for awhile he is probably right.

Note from a mother of both a boy and a girl. Boys are easier by far. Girls aren't all they are cracked up to be once they hit the teen years. They are fun when they are little but once they grow up your hands are totally full.

Since your fiance has had multiple boys already, chances are that you're going to have a boy. With every same sex child, the chance decreases of you having a child of a different sex. You might want to get a second opinion, or wait until your next ultrasound and have the doctor check the sex again. Good Luck!!

well usually when they say it is a boy then it is a boy because it is more common to make a mistake thinking it is a girl when in fact it is a boy. but if they see something a little extra that usually clues u off. as far as wanting to be sure i would recomend u find a place near u that does a 4d ultra sound. i had one when i was pregnent with my daughter. it is only 100 dollars and the session is about 45 minutes. u get a dvd and a vcr tape. good luck and if it is not a girl better luck next time.

Sometimes the doctor can be mistaken. Most girls that are in uterus has a labia that can get really swelled up to the point of it looking like a scrotum. The swelling goes down after birth. There has been mistakes made like this where doctor says it's a boy and boom it turns out to be a girl. I don't want to blow up your hopes too much, but yes, it is possible your doctor saw a girls labia.

I would wait a while get another ultra sound. Theres always a chance of the first one being wrong.. I made the doctor move my baby around every which way to be sure she was a girl!

Don't sweat it yet. My parents thought I would be a boy almost right up to the moment I was born and I'm a girl. Of course, technology has improved in the 24 years since I was born, but sometimes doctors do make mistakes.

i had 4 ultra sounds with my last one. all 4 times was told it was a boy. decorated the room for a boy, and bought all new boy clothes (previous child was a girl). went into labor, had a girl. took everything back to the store and had to re-do the room. They don't know 100% on what you are having until it is born.

You could wait a while and get another ultrasound. No matter what you do, it's going to be what it's going to be.

If you really want a girl, you could adopt.
