It is not the proactiv, it is just your skin. I tried it before and it didn't work, and it made my skin so dry! Then i tried a few other things and found that using a softer facial cleanser worked. Sometimes pimples can't always be fought by drying them out and vigorously exfoliating them. Experimen, cause you will find something soon!

I have heard that Proactive is very harsh and drying. If you are over drying your face, it could be upping the oil production, thus making your problem worse. You may want to try a gentler product like clinique's facial soap bar(MILD) and the toner (MILD) but no moisturizer. I am nearly 40 and do not moisturize ever, never have even though everyone yells MOISTURIZE!!!! why? I already have oily skin!
To reduce redness of acne spots you could buy a 10% benzoyl peroxide gel and only use a tiny little bit over the spot. DO NOT get desperate and smear it everywhere or once again you will over dry your skin and get into trouble all over again. Good luck, I KNOW it is frustrating.

Proactive will not work on everyone. Its just like every other skin care product out there. What I suggest is seeing a dermatolgist. It sounds like you have a problem that over the counter cleanser wont help. The dematolgist can fix you up with the right stuff.

For some people Proactiv will not work. You should talk to your dermatologist and look for another solution to your problem. My friend also got Proactiv and it did nothing for her skin and made it worse. So I guess it depends on the person.

FYI Be advised, when you ordered Proactive, they automatically charge you, and send another box every 60 days. When I ordered for someone else I only wanted one set ( about $70 ! ). But I noticed my credit card was charged again, and just received the second box. If you didnt want it, you can "return to sender", but have to make the trip to the post office, and call them to cancel automatic ordering.
There are more effective treatments for acne. There are several antibiotics for Acne P. Clindamycin gel, is one, comes in a tube.
Erythromycin oral tablet, and others.
Avoid tetracycline,
All antibiotics can affect birthcontrol pill effectiveness, and can lead to yeast infections.
Ask your doctor,
Dont pick.

maybe you need to try a different brand of cleansers because proactiv works for most people but you aren't one of them

you could see a "dermatologist" or you could try "acne-aide" if you were lucky enough to find some still around. this bar soap could cure within a week or two period, the most stubborn pimples, get oily skin under control, and even helps with proublem oily hair. it is wonderful! try the internet or any old pharmacies that may still be in business. good luck

It didn't work for me either...I use regular old soap and water...and it's working...and less sugar and less stress...it's been helping. Proactiv is basically using famous people to trick people in to buying their crappy product! It's not you, Honey...
