It's more important to balance the first name with the last name, not the middle name. You have to consider things like beginning sounds. For example, does Sherry Shafer sound OK? And then how does the end of the first name go with the beginning of the last name? For example, does Bridget go with Johnson? Finally, you have to consider if the child's initials spell anything even remotely embarrasing.
For now, all one can say is that the child's first name should be short and shouldn't end with a short "a" sound if it's to go with Alexandra.
