My car broke down and I was about 3 miles from town, so I was walking (at night) and a car pulled up - I thought I was a GONER! The guy asked if it was my car back there and said he had a little sister and wouldnt want her walking at night, or talking to strange men on the highway, so he put his cellphone on top of his car and had me use it to call my boyfriend. Then he turned around on the other side of the road and drove behind me so I could see to walk back to my car. Told me he'd offer me a ride, but he wouldn't want his sister in a car with strangers, but he was nice enough to see that I got back to my car okay.
I thought the whole thing was very thoughtful of him. Wouldn't even let me pay for the phone call, even though I'd had money in my pocket to use at a payphone.

When I was on the way home from Florida, I had trouble carrying all my stuff while trying to transfer to another bus. I was in NYC, and some guy I didn't know, helped me with my things. I didn't even have a chance to thank him, he was gone before I could, but all my stuff was where I needed it to be (with nothing missing). He helped re-new my faith that not everyone was out to hurt me.

Total strangers gave me a house to live in, rent free for as long as I needed it, clothes, furniture, & stocked my kitchen with food and cooking utensils when my house burned down. There are a lot of good people in this world.

I was going to N. Cali, and a lady at a cafe in a TINY one street town in Arizona called the local tire guy, who opened up his already closed tire shop, and he hunted for over 30 minutes for a tire for us! Then refused a tip!

Well I know there are some really good people out there who do things just out of the goodness of their heart, but I just haven't run into any of them yet. Maybe someday I will, and I'll have a good story to tell.

Fixed my car when I was out of town, and had no money or credit cards to pay him. It needed a new alternater and he not only supplied it but installed it. My husband sent him a cheque when I got home, but the mechanic didn't know me.
