if the president doesn’t get back over 40 percent by the end of the summer, we should expect a return to the old litany of terror alerts and announcements.
For some time now, the ideology of the GOP hegemony has been reduced to one maxim and goal. Stay in power. Hold on.
This is the next thing they will throw at us after Immigration and Gay Marriage (then maybe the flag burning sham) wears off...
Get ready to be STUPID!!!!! again.

I have never worried about the terror alerts. Besides the fact that I live in Indiana, I have plenty of weaponry to secure my apartment!

While your talking points may entertain you, they are rather boring to the rest of the world.
There have only been six orange alert levels since the system was introduced in 2002. The first two did nothing to increase poll numbers significantly. The third one happened near the time of the beginning of the Iraq war, which caused the approval numbers to rise, not the alert. The fourth alert level increase was at roughly the same time that Saddam Hussein was captured, which is why the approval numbers rose, once again not because of the alert. The last terror alert level increase in 2004 had no significant effect on approval levels.
So basically your entire premise is false. The terror alert level has nothing to do with the president's poll numbers, so raising the alert would do nothing for the polls.

You're exceedingly parinoid.
I'm very left wing don't get me wrong, but Bush is headed out. Gay marriage bans will never pass. A thirty percent approval rating won't get much better.
I'm sorry, but we're not going to have a Republican president next time, unless Hilary runs, in which case we might. Pray she doesn't.
Don't get me wrong, I love Hilary, but she's too divisive. Too many more conservative Democrats who feel let down by her husband won't vote for her, and those that would will be confused by her record or lack thereof.
She'd get the nomination no problem, but she won't win.
Other than that, we're not getting a Republican president.
Honestly, the thing to be most worried about are the invasions of personal privacy and disregard for the right to privacy by this administration.
Give the rest a rest. It'll get better, when the administration changes (yay congressional elections!!!) a lot of what's wrong will be fixed. The only thing to worry about is what we don't get to see.
Be worried, he's not done yet, but don't be parinoid. It'll get better. Let's hear it for low approval ratings!

It's funny, cause the ideology of liberals is to prejudge and make assumations about people and situations long before there is any cause for concern. They also seem to feed on negativity and conspiracy. Liberals are infamous for instilling fear in people by trying to convince the American people that their government is trying to turn us all into a bunch of robots who make money for the oil tycoons by killing 3000 of it's own citizens. Weird, I thought that would have been the republicans claiming some president was to be the antichrist or something.
I wish you people would realize you're alienating others by insulting their intelligence and trying to convince them they are just sheep. Your "assault-and-battery" political tactics will never work. The American people are smarter than that. The liberals went wrong by turning your everyday American into a hands-over-ears, dragon-tongued, know-it-all, narrow-minded Eeyore politician. You people never listen, and all you do is take people's words out of context, making everything seem like a conspiracy. The only conspirators are the ones shouting from their soap-boxes, trying to win back a seat in the house and power in Washington.
You should be ashamed of the people you are standing behind; your and their words are nothing but painful, false allegations that are dividing this nation so terribly that one day the enemy will have no problem using the "divide and conquer" tactic, because you will have already accomplished half of that for them. Why don't you just go ahead and hand them the throne???
Shut your venomous mouth and crawl back into the dark, lifeless hole from which you came. You're a snake in the grass for this nation and you're lucky we don't live in the 50's. No one is listening to you except for the lynch mob that already agrees with you.

Which DNC talking point is this one? You guys over there at the DNC office would feel pretty stupid if an attack occured; or would you just blame the president and his terror alert status. Maybe you should try helping the country avoid such an attack; get out of your safe little cubical and join the real patriots in Iraq. (and no I didn't mean your friends in al queda either)

Give me a Break! do you really think the terror alerts are to inject fear into us? If they had of announced that the Twin Towers were going to be blown up, you probably would not have fallen for it. Get a Life!!!

You make some valid points. But you have to ask yourself, is it by luck, serendipity, or the pure kindness of Muslim extremists that we have not been attacked in nearly 5 years. Bush has fallen down on the job, shifted focus, and mis-spoken at every turn. But domestic terrorism is the one thing he has figured out.

That terror color scale is a joke. He must have been taking a dump when he came up with that one.
Ya...now his focus is gay marriage. I think there are far more important issues that he ought to be concerned with. That should be last on the list.
