It is best to watch the first two films. I can't believe people are saying that it does not matter. It does matter! The first film which came out in 1979 helps to establish the characters. The second film introduces a few new characters. In the third film, there are a few new characters introduced, but the regular characters are now deeply entrenched in some conflicts. Why does Rogue want to get the Cure? Well, you need to see the first two films to fully understand her dilemna.

No,u don't but if u do it's easier to understand the newest one.For me I saw the second one like a week before the third and know and love certain characters and my bother reads the comics,but it's not at all nessisary the movie explains everything in the movie!

If you have no previous knowledge, it really helps to see the first two, but its not necessary to enjoy the third.

itll give you a little more of a backstory for everything and it will help you understand some of the characters a bit more, but youll still know whats going on if you just see the 3rd one.
