Take a job in a totally unrelated field. A degree in philosophy sharpens your critical thinking and communications skills, and makes you good at a lot of different things. But it's riskier than not getting a more practical degree with a more obvious job option attached to it.

my first philosophy teacher told me this. "no one wants to pay a philosopher. they just want to sit at their feet and listen."

...annnnd thats pretty much true. you could teach philosophy but be prepared to get your doctorate because the compeition is fierce and there arent a lot of positions.

philosophy isnt a marketable job skill. but if youre into philosophy and logic you could be a lawyer! you could also be a computer programmer.

One person I know had the job of determining the usefulness of new chemical compounds in the chemical industry. Another was a fine computer programmer. Good luck.

travel the world and be a lecturer. teach people about what you have learned and enjoy meeting new people in new cultures.
