Does anyone else every get that weird feeling sometimes that life isn't actually real? I've never worked out if it's just me or not and find it a difficult feeling to explain... hmmmmm.

Kinda like we're just characters in a book or in someones dream, and as soon as they stop reading or wake up we'll cease to exist? I've had that thought before, but it passes. It's kinda just a "what if" moment, then it's gone.

It is not an unusual experience, although it is not very common either. People who have this kind of feeling are very sensitive, a lot more so than the average person, and it is their ability to make contact with realms beyond the here and now that causes it.
People with this ability will often turn to spirituality or occultism, or develop further abilities as mediums, psychics, clairvoyants or mind readers. It is a special gift to be embraced, and nothing to be worried about.

Totally! It's not just you. I get that happen to me sometimes too. Like, you just wonder what on earth is actually going on, and things in everyday life just seem to be a little different and distant.
But what I do to chill it all out a bit is to say to myself "what is real for one is not for another". Because really, it's all a matter of personal perspective. How you see things in life is totally individual, because you are you. It is a weird one to explain though, but oddly enough, I know what you mean! Hang in there kidda and keep liking Jo Whiley! ;-)

It shows u r a sensitive person, and it can lead u to persue a spiritual life, coz what u feel is your real self, the soul. The soul has not to do with the body we have or the world we live, it is really a big dream...

there are times when i feel that i am not what i am today
im something totally different..then all of a sudden everything seems soo pathetically confusing...
who are these people all around me?
what am i doing here if i dont belong here?
what is my aim in life ?
but these things are so draining that a normal busy human mind refuses to waste time thinking over this...

I used to puzzle over this question frequently.

But when you realise that the "actor / singer" Jennifer Lopez and "singer" Christina Aguilera actually earn loads of money, then I'm absolutely f***ing sure this world's some stupid t**t's invention.

Yes, I get that feeling sometimes.
It feels like I am standing just a fraction away from myself, watching.
You know, like when you are watching a video/DVD & it sound & vision are not quite in synch.
Sometimes it feels like deja vu. Like I already know what is going to happen next.
Spooky feeling, isn't it?

Perhaps its because we, as a race, live on the outside of natural reality. Society is an un-natural concept of reality, but because we are bought up to accept it as reality it sems to be normal. Does this make any sense??

Yes. Its the feeling that this is all an illusion, or a dream. Did you know there is a society on earth that believes that our dreams are reality, and our "reality" is the dream?
