My friend married this women mail-order from Jamacia. After two years he began to notice her changing quite dramaticaly. Then one day he came home and found her with another man . She suddenly tells him that she has a child in Jamacia and if he does'nt pay for his way over to the states she will leave him for this other man. Does anyone have any suggestions about what options my friend may have? I believe she just used him to get her citizenship. Is it possible to have her deported for breaking a contract of marriage? And, if so is she liable for any suffering my friend is or will be going through? All help is greatly appreciated.

First off, are you sure there was a contract, and that it has a clause on adultery? You may also want to check into the local laws, as here in N.C. it is actually punishable by up to three years in jail. Bible Belt being what it is.... But if nothing else, I would pack her bags and tell her to call the guy... good riddance to her. I have come to realize over time that MOST women that cheat, are very likely to do so again. Good luck!

I can't condone a vindictive course of action- but your friend would be well within his rights to divorce her and seeing as she was the one having the affair, that can't bode well for her rights. The added complication of a child she never told him about and her expectation for him to pay for this child to come to the US won't help her case and will strengthen his. He may not need to mention citizenship- once the paperwork is put before the Courts, they will see for themselves.

First off, you need to learn how to spell.

You got what you deserved (I assume your "friend" is you). What a pathetic thing to do, get a mail-order bride from Jamaica. Go ahead, try to report her to the immigration authorities. You'll find yourself just as guilty for committing immigration fraud, and while she may get deported, you'll end up in the big house. Who knows, you may even end up as someone's "wife" there.

They can get counseling or they can split up. I doubt she is liable for any suffering but he might be able to do something about the greencard/citizenship thing. Have him check with a lawyer.

He can divorce her, or take her to court and report what is going on,so that he don't get into any trouble for helping her to get here green card. Even though he loves her.

They should seperate for six months, then get a divorce, and he can marry someone closer, who doesn't need a green card.

He got what he paid for. He should see if he can get his money back and return the merchandise.
