How old are you? Asian Indians are from India. Native americans are called "indians" but that is a misnomar. Asian indians are usually dark skinned. Go read a history book or something. Here's a start.

If memory serves me right, the main reason Native Americans are also called Indians is due to a mistake made by Christopher Columbus. Christopher Columbus calculated that he could circumnavigate the world and reach India by sailing across the Atlantic ocean instead of sailing around the cape of Good Hope at the bottom of Africa. The purpose of this was to get to India faster and trade goods for spices that would be traded back in Europe, and the profits from this trade route were very high.
His calculations were wrong though, and he thought the world was smaller than it really is. When he finally reached land he thought that he had actually reached India, and called the people he found, the Native Americans, Indians due to his mistake, and the name simply stuck through the centuries.
As to where the Native Americans came from, it is believed that during the ice age there was an ice bridge that connected Russia and Alaska. At first the Native Americans were hunter and gatherers, and followed migrating animals across the ice bridge. By the time the ice age ended, the bridge returned to ocean water and Native Americans established themselves from the Eskimos of Alaska to the Incan and Aztec empires of Latin and South America.
I hope I answered your question for you. I gave the link to Columbus and his theories below, and honestly, if you know the term you are looking up I highly recommend searching wikipedia.org.

Indians from North America are basically the descendants of the natives that lived in North America before Columbus reached the shores. They are known as Native Americans.

The other type of Indians (i.e. the real Indians) are from India. In colloquial and not so politically correct terms, they are "brown" people. Native Americans have features similar to people from South America.

Basically, what happened was that Columbus wanted to find a quick way to reach India by ship for trading, but he got lost and found North America instead. At first, he thought he reached India, so he called the Native Americans "Indians." When he found out he was wrong and he had found a new continent, the term "Indian" was already in use by many people, although it is currently politically incorrect to refer to Native Americans as "Indians."

Wow. ok, Native American are the one you thought were Indians, in the tribes. They were mistakenly called Indians by Christopher Columbus and his crew, who discoved the Americas when searching for another route from Europe to India than going all the way around the southern tip of Africa. They landed thinking they had reached India, and would find lots of gold and silk and other riches. But they discovered a lesser developed people instead, and called them Indians.

Indians are from India, period.

here's your answer......
the only real indians are from india.

what happened was this : when stupid christopher columbus first arrived to america , he thought he had landed in india (he was an idiot), so he called all the natives here 'indians'.
since then , due to the stupidity of a spanish salilor , all the native tribes from south , central and north america are called indians.
it's funny how an idiot can damage so much history.
