Rabbits' poop doesn't usually smell bad at all. It should be large round pellets which smell rather earthy, that's all. If any bunn is producing very smelly or muddy poop, it's probably either being fed some type of vegie or fruit that doesn't agree with its stomach, or being fed too much protein. Here's a couple of great articles that give lots of info on the complexities of bunny stomach health -

Before six months, bunnies' main diet should be hay, water, and lucerne pellets. Some say you can begin introducing vegetables at four months, some say not until six months of age. Most importantly, when you begin to introduce vegies, you must do it VERY slowly and gradually - begin with just one slice or one very small piece of your chosen vegie, and make sure it doesn't give her diarrhoea over the next 24 hours before giving any more. Please see my website, where I've written articles on this, at

Also, NEVER give lettuce and NEVER give cabbage to rabbits - lettuce and cabbage are both very bad for rabbits, can cause diarrhoea and bloat which can kill them -

rabbit poop stinks no matter what. a lot. feed it fresh dark veggies, not iceberg lettuce, and lots of fresh timothy hay and it will live a good long life. packaged food is bad for bunnies. i got this info from a bunny vet who got it from a research paper he showed me. loose hay and dark greens like romaine, with some other fresh veggies and a little fruit here and there equals happy, healthy bunny.

Not at all. Fresh food is actually good for rabbits, as long as you research which kinds of foods are okay. For example, you actually shouldn't give your rabbit iceberg lettuce, but other lettuces are okay.

As long as by "fresh" you mean greens, lettuce, etc., then it's fine. Won't make it any stinkier than the pre-made alfalfa based foods.

It will give bunny an upset stomach if given too much. And may cause diarrhoea!
