Unfortunately low, I think. My cousin was kept back in an animal science program mostly because the dean didn't want a handicapped kid there.
He's now at a Big Ten school doing just fine.

Probably the same attitude as society shows towards physically challenged students in general. I dont the the fact that he or she studies biology make a difference.
BTW what is wrong with saying handicapped? I know we live in an increasingly pc world, and it is sickening, but I dont see nothing derogatory with the term handicapped. Physically challeged sounds vague and stupid.
The handicapped are looked down upon in many countries, especially asian countries. Western societies treat handicapped a lot better than the east, in my opinion. Even minor phyical disabilities in japan put people on others sh*t list.

I'd rather have a physically challenged INTELLIGENT person in my biology class, than a fully functional idiot. I think most school districts try their best to accommodate all types of disabilities. If this is a college situation, there should be no problem at all since Biology majors are cool people and like just about everyone!

Why should there be a problem with this? just because they are handicapped in some form does not make them less of a person.
I applaud them. What would our space program be if people sneered and jeered at Dr Stephen Hawking who is one of the worlds fore most physics scientists.
