Depends if you have front wheel drive or rear wheel drive. Inner tie rod or outer tie rod? Do you have the tools to remove this part correctly?
I would recomend having it done at the local garage for replacement and then realignment. This job can run anywhere from $90 and up depending on make and model of your car. Add couple hundred for BMW, Mercedes, etc.

First of all, it's a tie rod, not a tire rod. If you are mechanical and have the tools, you may be able to replace it, but you will need an alignment done by a shop that has the proper equipment to make sure it is properly adjusted.

If you have basic mechanical competence you can install a tie rod yourself. Price will depend upon the car. Some tie rods are $15.00 and some are $100.00. It will depend upon the vehicle. and YES the others are correct. You will need to take the car for an Alignment Immediately after installing the new part. Good Luck!

not to be critical but its a "tie" rod. it will run about $300.00 installed. because it is part of the alignment system i don't recommend it as a do-it-yourself project.

depends on what kind of car you have. they are not that expensive but you will need to have front wheel alignment after you have done this or the front tires will wear out very fast!
