I would have to say Ally McBeal prior to the 5th season where it just went completely downhill and then crashed. That was one of his best made shows to date, at least that I've seen. I was able to relate to all the characters in some sort of way which made the show enjoyable for me.
I was also living in Singapore at the time where American shows were very limited. One of the few we received there was Ally McBeal, so I might have been so attached to it because it reminded me of the US. Either way, it was a wonderful show.
