The baby should turn within the next few weeks. As for the weight they gave you is an estimate, there's no way of knowing exactally how much the baby weighs. When I was pregnant with my 3rd child my water broke when I was 36 weeks. The doctor told me that the baby seemed to be around 6.5 pounds and that we could go ahead and induce me(which wouldn't matter anyways cause my water broke and the baby needed to come out before an infection developed). When she was born and weighed she only weighed 5.3 pounds.
If that's the case here then I wouldn't worry about having a big or small baby, she should be at average weight.

Consider this...most of the time, the weight they give you for a baby based on an ultrasound is a mere "guesstimate", and they are usually wrong. At 34 weeks, most babies weigh around 4.5 pounds, but of course, there are always larger or smaller exceptions. Do either of your families have a tendency for big babies? Sometimes that's a factor, too. Unless you get absolutely huge in the next couple of weeks, I wouldn't worry too much. Newborn babies come in quite a range of sizes (from 5.5 to around 10 pounds).

Well when i had my kids i had a ultra sound at 20 weeks and they only weighed about 1.5 lbs.... so i would think that at 34 weeks it should be close to that. And in your 3rd trimester you the baby gains about a pound a week. You may just have a big baby. Plus you have to remember that this is a close estimate, not the true weight.

Ultrasound has a high rate of being off the mark (up to 33% off!) the farther into the pregnancy you are. Don't get too hung up on sizes at this point- lots of doctors start scaring patients into thinking their babies are gigantic, they consent to induction and then give birth to tiny babies. UGH! It happens!
If baby is breech though, I highly recommend that you check out the sites I link to below about fetal positioning to encourage baby to turn. NOW is the time to be addressing it! Don't wait longer, because the bigger the baby grows, the harder it is for her to turn.

Sounds about right. And don't worry about the breech position at 34 weeks. She'll turn soon.

when i was 33 weeks my baby weighed 3lbs, 12oz and was 14 inches long and when i had him he weighed 4lbs 15.6oz and was 17 inches long.
I had pre-eclampsia and he was breech...I had him at 36 weeks.
I would say that when you have your baby she will weigh about 8-81/2 pounds.
good luck and congrats
