This is NOT a savings bond, it is just a regular bond. We found it under our carpet while we where recarpeting. It was from the early 1800's and was for $1000.00. Do you think this is worth any money and if so, where would I go to 'cash it in' or get the value of it??? I have had the offer from someone to buy it for $1000 but I am nervous that they buy it and make millions off it and all I got was $1000!!!! Thanks for the help!!

Find out when its maturity date was. Bonds are redeemable at face value upon reaching maturity. Also try to contact the issuer (if they still exist). If not, contact your local bank or broker.
