Well, the earth revolves around the sun once a year, the earth rotates on its axis once a day, and the moon revolves around the earth about once a month. Most of the apparent movement of the moon and sun across the sky is due to the earth rotating. Some of the movement of the moon is due to the moon revolving around the earth. But it takes about 28 days for the moon to travel around the earth, and it only take one day for the earth to rotate on it's axis, so you see the relative effect.

in that the moon and sun both travel across the "universal sky" yes they travel th same, however.......... the moon revolves around the earth, which is stationary relative to the moon. and the earth [and moon] revolve around the sun , which is stationary relative to the earth and other planets of our solar system... that said , the sun and moon "APPEAR" to move across the sky because of the daley ROTATION of the earth... but this is just an alusion. if you could watch everything from far out in space you would see the moon travel around the earth, the earth travel around the sun , our whole solar system traveling around the milky way galaxi, as the entire galaxi zipps through outerspace at stupendous speeds... and all this with out a seat belt !!!.... hang on tight!!

The Moon (and stars) upward push and set basically like the sunlight. The growing to be and placing of the sunlight is an phantasm brought about by ability of Earth's rotation. of course the Earth's rotation makes the full sky (and each thing in it) seem to upward push, pass around the sky, and set; no longer basically the sunlight. yet additionally to that, the orbital action of the Moon around the Earth motives an added exchange of place of approximately 12 stages consistent with day, inflicting the Moon to upward push at a diverse time daily. it particularly is often up in daylight hours for instance. the celebs are too, yet they are too dim to verify in daylight hours

The moon moves because its inertia has been balaced by the force of our gravity to create a mostly stable orbit. Thus, it moves like a bucket on a string. As for the Sun, it doesn't move, but we do.

Are you serious? The moon and the sun don't move, the earth is rotating.

Not really. We orbit the sun, and the Moon orbits around the Sun with us.

All around the world
We could make time
Rompin' and a-stompin'
'cause I'm in my prime
Born in the north
And sworn to entertain ya
'Cause I'm down for
The state of Pennsylvania
I try not to whine
But I must warn ya
'Bout the motherfuckin'
Girls from California
Alabama baby
Said "hallelujah"
Good God girl
I wish I knew ya
I know, I know for sure
That life is beautiful around the world
I know I know it's you
You say, "Hello" and then I say, "I do"
Come back, baby
'cause I'd like to say
I've been around the world
Back from Bombay
Fox hole love
Pie in your face
Livin' in and out
Of a big fat suitcase
Bona fide ride
Step aside Mark Johnson
Yes I could
In the woods of Wisconsin
A week up the cape
At the lake she's kissin' me
As they do
When they do in Sicily
I know, I know for sure
That life is beautiful around the world
I know I know it's you
You say, "Hello" and then I say, "I do"
Where you want to go?
Who you want to be?
What you want to do?
Just come with me
I saw god
And I saw the fountains
You and me girl
Sittin' in the Swiss mountains
Me Oh My O
Me and Guy O
Freer then a bird
When we're rockin' Ohio
Around the world
I feel dutiful
Take a wife
cause life is beautiful
I know I know for sure
ning, nang, nong, nong, neng, neng, nong, nong, ning, nang.
I know I know it's you
ning, nang, nong, nong, neng, neng, nong, nong, ning, nang.
Mother Russia, do not suffer
I know you're bold enough
I've been around the world
And I have seen your love
I know I know it's you
You say, "Hello" and then I say, "I do"

moon orbits earth because earth is bigger and has more gravitational field. earth orbits the sun because the sun is bigger and is the source of all the gravities in our solar system
