Even though I am female I have asked males about this including my husband and they all pretty much say the same thing and that is because me are all physical creatures,
If for example a wife is not having sex with her husband the first thing he thinks is that she does not love him anymore.
Now I will not say this is true for all men but, for a large number of them, this was the answer I got.
I hope that helps somewhat.
Now I may have been lied to but I will say that my husband tells me the truth when ever I ask him things of this nature.
I must say that he is my best friend as well as my husband, so I trust his words to be true.

Unfortunately, it's because they have not had good examples set for them by their parents' marriages. If a child---male or female---grows up in a home where the mother and the father demonstrate love on multiple levels, then children can see that love is not sex. Sex is actually just a method of communicating love, affection, respect, and devotion. If the only time their parents are not fighting or arguing or yelling about something is when they're in their bedroom, then children get the idea that's the only time "they love each other." That's very sad.
The same act of intercourse is the same act that occurs in a rape. The only thing that makes the difference---the intent of the act. In rape, the intent is control, power, and selfishness. In a healthy sexlife between a husband and wife, the intent is for each to share with the other their love, time, communication, affection, and commitment to one another.

I thank you for saying some men. Well some men just think they need to have sex to be happy and they think it will help the relationship go better. It really just makes you look forward to having sex when you see your mate rather than just wanting to see them. Other men may just say it joking arround but if you came down to it, they wouldnt have sex.

There are better ways to show you love someone than to have sex with them. Sex does not MEAN love. Sex is something you do with someone you've already established your love for/with.
