it is the score at half time..so if the score reads....Ireland 5 Holland 3 (2-1) then it was 2-1 at half time and 5-3 at full time!!

Well, usually if there is a shootout, it will read something like 2-2(5-4). Does that help?

I guess it would be or the result of the first half or if there was a penalty shootout the result.

It means of the four goals two were penalty kicks and of the two goals there was one penalty kick
